Blue Christmas Evensong (Dec. 21): Candlelight, Quiet Music, Real Comfort

Feeling the holiday buzz but carrying a heavy heart? Looking for a quiet place to breathe, remember and pray?

What to Expect

A short, music-rich service

Blue Christmas Evensong is a gentle, contemplative service of scripture, prayer and song held in the sanctuary. The music is acoustic and vocal, the message is brief and honest, and the tone is calm. It’s designed to offer space for anyone navigating grief, loneliness or complicated emotions this time of year.

Welcoming and unhurried

Come as you are. Bring your questions, your weariness, your memories. The service makes room for you to sit in quiet and to rest in God’s presence without hurry or hype. Each Evensong in this season is also livestreamed, so you can join from home if that’s best for you.

Why This Night Matters

Not every December moment is merry. Blue Christmas Evensong honors that truth and offers comfort in community. In candlelit quiet, we listen for the promise that God draws near, meeting us with compassion and peace. If the season feels loud, this hour gives you room to slow down and be held by song, prayer and stillness—no explanations required.
