Feed Our Neighbors: Mission Monday Sandwich and Trail Mix Drop-Off on Oct. 6

Can you spare a little time Monday morning to help someone eat supper that same night? Join Mission Monday and turn simple lunch-making into real help for neighbors across D.C.

Event Details

When and where

Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in the Bethesda UMC parking lot (Huntington Parkway).

Who benefits

Donations go to Martha’s Table and are distributed by McKenna’s Wagon at multiple locations Monday evening.

What to Bring

  • Meat and cheese sandwiches — individually wrapped or bagged.
  • Homemade trail mix (no nuts) — portioned in small, sealed baggies.
  • Nonperishable foods for BUMC’s Little Free Pantry — you can drop these with your Monday donations or place items in the narthex basket any time the church is open.

Can’t Make Monday?

Drop items in the church kitchen refrigerator on Sunday, Oct. 5. Please label each bag or box with your name and the number of items inside so our volunteers can count quickly.

Quick Tips for a Smooth Drop-Off

  • Pack sandwiches and trail mix securely to keep them fresh and easy to transport.
  • Group items in larger bags or boxes and write the totals on the outside.
  • Invite a friend or neighbor to contribute; small batches add up fast.

Why It Matters

These simple, ready-to-eat foods go directly to people who rely on a hot drink, a sandwich, and a snack to get through the night. Your effort moves from our lot to the streets the same day—no delays, no red tape, just kindness delivered.

Show up, drop off, and head on with your day knowing someone will eat tonight because you took a few minutes to help. See you in the parking lot.
