Maundy Thursday Community “Meal”
Thursday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m.

The last supper that Jesus had was with his disciples, friends, and followers. Jesus’ ministry was filled with times when he invited folks to eat with him. Perhaps it is because it was through meals that Jesus taught about the “kin-dom,” or family, of God, where everyone has a place at the table. Join us in the Narthex as we take a moment to look at the last supper, reflect on other times Jesus ate, and taste and see that God is good. Join us for communion as well as a “meal” that will include hummus, dates, nuts, and pita.
Good Friday Service
Friday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m.
This Good Friday, we will have a somber and meaningful service of Tenebrae, a Christian service held during Holy Week, particularly on Good Friday, that uses the gradual extinguishing of candles to symbolize the events of Jesus’s final hours, culminating in his death and burial. During this special service, the Sanctuary Choir will present “Requiem” by Gabriel Fauré in its entirety—a piece that they have worked hard on and that you will not want to miss.
Sunrise Service
Sunday, April 20, at 7:00 a.m.
Join us at 7:00 a.m. on Easter Sunday as we embrace the first light of Easter morning with our Sunrise Service. This special gathering is a unique opportunity to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ as a new day breaks. Join us because after all of the hard things we have walked through with Jesus this week, it is important to remember that even when justice seems the furthest away, light emerges from night as our Savior rose from the grave. Let’s welcome Easter together in this meaningful, serene service, echoing the joyous proclamation, “He is Risen!”
Easter Worship Experience
Sunday, April 20, at 10:00 a.m.
He has risen indeed and at last! When we are going through times when we feel justice will never come, remember that Jesus probably felt that way during Holy Week, but we are reminded on Easter that the resurrection is just around the corner. We will have wonderful music, including our annual singing of part of “The Messiah” and a rendition of “Over the Rainbow.” All in all, this will be a festive service that will let us truly celebrate the risen Christ!
Easter Egg Hunt
Sunday, April 20, after worship
We’re hosting an Easter Egg Hunt right after our 10:00 a.m. worship service. While this is not a worship service, it is worth seeing and experiencing! It is a great way to remember the joy of Easter, and the youth will be hiding the eggs before the service, so see Pastor Julio if you want to help.
