Luke for Real Life: Two Ways to Join Our Bible Study This Week

Looking for a simple way to refocus your week and grow in community?

Our church is reading Luke together using Adam Hamilton’s Luke: Jesus and the Outsiders, Outcasts, and Outlaws. You’ll meet a Savior who sits with those on the margins and offers a welcome wide enough for all. No prep needed—just show up, listen, and join the conversation.

What’s happening this week

Sunday, Jan. 11 — In person

  • Time: 9 to 9:45 a.m.
  • Location: Room 207

Wednesday, Jan. 14 — Prayer Bites (in person)

  • Time: Noon
  • Location: Narthex
  • Leader: Rev. Shaw (while Rev. HiRho is on renewal leave)

Note: The Tuesday online class is not meeting this week and resumes Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. To receive the Zoom link, email shaw@washmorefeet.org.

Why Luke, and why now

Luke shows Jesus eating with sinners, lifting up those the world overlooks, and making room at the table. As we study, we’ll ask honest questions and look for practical next steps. Expect a grounded conversation that connects Scripture to everyday life and points us toward God’s widening welcome.

How to join

  • Come to Room 207 on Sunday or the Narthex on Wednesday—no signup required.
  • Want the book? It’s optional. Request a copy at shaw@washmorefeet.org.
  • Prefer online? Ask for the Tuesday Zoom link at the same email.

What to bring

  • A Bible (any translation) or a Bible app
  • A notebook if you like to jot things down
  • Your questions—curiosity is welcome

Pick the time that fits, come as you are, and let Luke’s stories stretch your imagination for what God is doing among us.
